Art is all about giving back. 

I grew up in a wood shop - my father teaching my brother and I the basics of measure and design.  We shared that shop with Peaches, our far too well fed Guinea Pig and Tinker Bell, the albino cat.  Her circumstantial adoption, to this day, still brings a smile ...

 For many reasons,  my own woodshop has not been far away - as we mature, the important aspects of our life seem to follow ... always within reach should the requirement arise.  Sometimes it just takes us awhile to recognize those things  ...

Some artists paint, some sculpt, some draw figures in sea moistened beach sand.  My media is wood - it provides a similar connection.   I also like the idea of using a resource to create a piece rather than see the wood burned in a fireplace or left along a roadside.  Recovered wood or freshly harvested trees can be a tremendous source of inspiration.
